Honeycomb mats tested for playground use - 24th May 2010

We recently submitted the heavy duty M52LO to Smithers-RAPRA to obtain a Critical Fall Height (CFH). The result is outstanding and far better than we expected. The M52LO has been accredited with a CFH of 2.5m. As the mats are cooked to a greater hardness they are twice as tough as M522/M52L (and other cheaper alternatives) and should last much longer under even the most testing outdoor conditions. While dearer, they represent extremely good value. This is borne out by a school who installed the M52LO throughout thier grounds in 2005 and the mats are still as good as new. The same cannot be said for any M522/M52L instiallation
