Matting

Our motto at County is "when it's up to quality, not down to price" and this is reflected in our matting range.

There are many places that stock cheaper alternative versions of the mats we sell, but we have found these to be vastly inferior, and no longer stock them. It is legal to define a mat as "rubber" so long as it contains 50% latex. Seeing a number of seemingly identical samples together it is not possible to tell the difference in content. However, within quite a short time one will start to curl, smell and break down, another will start reducing to dust while others turn to a consistency similar to Weetabix and crumble apart as soon as they are flexed. One will remain pliable and flexible and provide a long and useful life and this is the one made of hard wearing pure unadulterated vulcanised latex.

The others will either contain cheap fillers (chalk, powdered use tyres or clay) and binding ingredients (polyurethane) - so cutting the cost of manufacture by as much as 35% over pure latex.

Because of this we now only buy our mats from one supplier: FIELDGUARD. We work very closely with them to bring you the best quality mats with the longest possible life span whilst endeavouring to keep prices as low as possible.
